Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
When a visitor enters a name, location, or other term in a search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the search service. Clermont County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's privacy terms govern its receipt and processing of the query.
Messages Sent to Us
An email or contact-form message may contain a name, email address, and any details the sender chooses to include. We retain that information as needed to read the message, respond, and keep a reasonable correspondence record. We do not disclose a message outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Information Collected Automatically
Standard technical information can be recorded when a page loads. These details help deliver pages, understand broad use patterns, and diagnose faults. The data may include:
- The connecting Internet Protocol address.
- The browser name and software version.
- The device category and operating system.
- Pages visited and approximate time spent on them.
- The referring website, when supplied by the browser.
- The date and time of each request.
Cookies and Similar Storage
Cookies may be used to understand how visitors move through the site and to support site or advertising functions. Browser controls can block or remove cookies. Blocking them may cause some functions to behave differently or prevent a preference from being remembered.
How Information Is Used
Collected information supports ordinary site operation and measurement. In particular, it may be used to:
- Keep pages available, responsive, and reliable.
- Send a search request to the appropriate partner service.
- Understand which Clermont County record pages visitors find useful.
- Identify errors, abuse, performance problems, and other technical issues.
- Present advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests.
Government and Outside Links
Links may lead to the Clermont County Sheriff, county courts, the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, VINE, federal custody tools, advertising services, or third-party search providers. Once a visitor follows an outside link, that destination's privacy policy and data practices apply. An official records request made to a Clermont County agency is handled by that agency under applicable law, including Ohio Revised Code 149.43, not under this private site's policy.
Some advertising partners may use their own cookies or similar technologies to follow activity across different sites and select interest-based ads. That collection occurs on the partner's systems and is governed by the partner's disclosures and controls.
Parties That May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold. Limited information may still be provided to parties that perform necessary functions or when the law requires disclosure:
- Search partners that process the query a visitor submits.
- Analytics providers that measure site use and performance.
- Advertising networks that deliver and measure advertisements.
- Law-enforcement agencies or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Safeguarding Personal Information
Reasonable, standard security practices are used to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No website, transmission method, storage service, or other Internet-connected system can be guaranteed fully secure. We therefore cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal data may contact us and request its deletion. We will review the request and remove information under our control when appropriate.
Choices About Personal Data
Subject to applicable limits and identity verification, a person may ask us to take the following actions concerning personal information held by this private site:
- Provide a copy of the personal data we maintain.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Erase personal information where deletion is appropriate.
- Opt out of certain processing where that choice applies.
These requests do not control records held by the Clermont County Sheriff, a court, ODRC, VINE, or another outside provider. Requests about government records must be directed to the agency that maintains them.
Changes to This Notice
This Privacy Notice may be revised when site practices, service providers, or legal obligations change. An updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after publication is subject to the revised notice.
